Branching into Spring Headband/Ear-warmer

I wrote this pattern keeping the spring season in mind, while the seed-stitched borders are a similitude to the flower buds and the middle pattern is similar to leaves springing out of branches.

This is a great pattern for lace knitting beginners and to practice lace stitches.

It is a beginner-friendly pattern and you need less than a 100g skein of yarn to make this! It is one of those quick knits so can make a lovely last-minute #knitgift for your loved one!

This is a 12-row repeat pattern with a seed stitch border on both sides and a leaf pattern in the middle.

You can find the free written pattern below.

Pattern Notes

  • sl2 is NOT sl2tog: Do not slip 2 stitches together. Instead, slip 1 stitch, then slip the next stitch.
  • p2sso: Use the tip of the left-hand needle to pass the two slipped stitches over the right-hand needle.

  1. Did you use cotton, acrylic or another type yarn?

    1. Hi! I used acrylic yarn – I find this is stretchy enough for a headband 🙂

Edit: I have updated the post as well, thanks!
