Materials
– 3 balls of Origin wool by SESIA (50 g. x 3)
(70% organic virgin wool blended with 30% Alpac)
Colours: 0154; 0046; 0463
– One pair of 9 mm / 13 US needles
– One pair of 2.5 mm / 1.5 US needles
– One sewing needle to finish and connect your pieces
The final measurements:
106 cm / 41.7 in – long (not sewn)
25 cm / 9.8 in – width
Pattern, Knit Flat:
This project is knitted in one piece widthwise and then seamed.
1. Cast on 60 stitches onto one of the wooden needles (9 mm.). Yarn color 0463.
2. Work row 1 with 2.5 mm needle: slip stitch, *purl 1, ktbl 1*. Repeat from * to * to the end of row.
3. Work row 2 with 9 mm needle: slip stitch, *purl 1, ktbl 1*. Repeat from * to * to the end of row.
Repeat rows 1 and 2 until you reach row 62.
Change the color to 0046 and repeat rows 1 and 2 until you reach row 62.
Change the color to 0154 and repeat row 1 and 2 until you reach row 62.
4. Cast off all stitches.
Join and finish
Once you have finished knitting your project it will look like the image in the diagram.
To make it into a snood, sew the ends together as shown in the diagram. To do this, thread the tapestry needle with the same yarn used for your project and sew with a zigzag stitch, picking up one stitch from each end of the scarf.
To finish, make a knot and weave in the tail end of yarn about 3 inches, cut off even with the fabric. Weave in any loose ends in the same way.
