Materials:
You can use pretty much any yarn for this pattern.
Start out with size 8(16 inch) circular needles.
Needle for sewinf up the top.
Guage
4 sts. to 1 inch, 6 rows to 1 inch.
Pattern:
1. CO 76 sts. Join(by adding an extra stitch and knitting the first two sts tog.) being careful not to twist your sts.
2. Knit 2, Purl 2 around placing marker at end of row. Repeat for 12 rows.
3. Knit for 2 rows.
4. Knit 2, Purl 2 for 2 rows.
5. Repeat rows 3 and 4 until the hat measures 7 inches, ending with the 2 knit rows.
Decreasing:
6. Knit 2, Purl 2 tog, repeat around.
7. Knit 2, Purl 1 around.
8. Knit
9. Knit
10. Knit 2 tog. Purl 1, repeat around.
11. Knit 1, Purl 1 around
12. Knit
13. Knit
14. Knit 1, Knit 2 tog, around. Knit last 2 sts.
15. Knit
16. Knit 2 tog. around
17. Knit
18. Repeat rows 11 and 12 until 8 sts remain.
19. Cut yarn leaving a 10 inch tail. Using a large-eyed sewing needle, run thread through the remaining sts and fasten off.
