So Simple Chunky Knit Slightly Slouchy Hat

Standard

Just a super simple, plain ole, sexy, stylish, slightly slouchy hat for any gender, age, or style persuasion.
st= stitch
K= knit
P= purl
K2tog= knit 2 st together

Ribbing- Size 10 16″ circulars Main Body- Size 15 16″ circulars

Cast on 54 st on size 10s (This will give you a hat to fit the average woman’s head.You can easily change the size of that by increasing or decreasing stitches by multiples of 4.)
K2, P1 (clustered rib st) repeated around for 10 rows
Switch to size 15s (I have the Denise interchangeable kntting set, so it’s super easy for me to switch needle sizes. I HIGHLY recommend getting one of these if you are a hardcore knitterbug! http://www.knitdenise.com/)

We’ll be finishing in stockinette st (just knit, no purling) I would also recommend using a stitch marker! It will make keeping to the pattern easier.
Knit about 6″-8″ and then we’ll start our decrease rows.

*K4, K2tog* repeat around
*K3, K2tog* repeat around
*K2, K2tog* repeat around
*K1, K2tog* repeat around (Be sure to leave about 4″6″ of tail before you cut the yarn)

Using a tapestry needle (or a crochet hook if you have to) thread the remaining tail through the knit loops. Pull tight, securely knot, and then weave in the remaining tail.

And there you have it! Easy peasy super simple very sexy slightly slouchy hat!

About HooliganHooker

IThis is an introduction (or wake-up call) to the personal trials and triumphs of one hardcore hooker (crocheter) and a knitterbug in the great state of Massachusetts. I will be posting pics, patterns, and problems. It is my goal (and sincerest wish) to be able to help other hookers and knitterbugs overcome their hang-ups and persevere in the awesome crafts of crocheting and knitting. I am Shannon I am 26 I am a mother I am a sassy bitch I am a classy broad I love all thing supernatural I am in a constant struggle with myself and the world around me. I chose to begin knitting crocheting because it was the one thing that made sense to me in this incredibly chaotic world. It was therapy. It was something to hold on to and focus on when everything else was spinning out of control into chaos. So join me on this journey to create a sassy community of hookers and knitterbugs looking to make friends, make better crafts, and most importantly make a difference in someone’s life (even if it’s their own!)

  1. Hi there! I found you through Pinterest and absolutely LOVE the simplicity of your so-simple-chunky-knit-slightly-slouchy-hat. I have made 3 so far! They were Christmas gifts and I even made one for myself, but ended up giving it to my mom. I think this 4th one is going to be for me. Thanks again!
