It was about time I made something for him as well.
I know spring is coming, but with the weather we are dealing with, trust me, we still need our scarves, hats and gloves (even fingerless).
So, here you a have a free knitting pattern for your partner (or even for yourself). Sorry for the light in the photos, as I was saying, the sun was hiding every time we were trying to take photos.
Men’s scarf – Free Knitting Pattern
What you need:
Needles: 4.5 mm straight needles or circular.
Amount of yarn needed: approx. 2 ball of yarn (350 g)
Yarn Weight: Aran 10 ply / 8 wpi
Yarn Gauge: 18 st (4in/10 cm)
Other: 1 cable needle, row counter (if you use one), darning needle for weaving in ends
Abbreviations:
Sl 1/2 in F: Sl 1/2 sts on a cable needle and hold in front.
Sl 1/2 in B: Sl 1/2 sts on a cable needle and hold in back.
CN: cable needle
Other info: This pattern is worked flat.
Note: When I work flat I prefer not to work the first stitch, I just slip it. It gives the work a smoother edge.
Pattern:
Cast on 60 sts.
Row 1: P all
Row 2: Sl 1, P1, *Sl 2 in F, P1, K2 from CN, P8, Sl 1 in B, K2, P1 from CN*. Repeat from * 4 times, P2
Row 3: Sl 1, K2, *P2, K8, P2, K2* Repeat from * 4 times, P1
Row 4: Sl 1, P2, *Sl 2 in F, P1, K2 from CN, P6, Sl 1 in B, K2, P1 from CN, P2*. Repeat from * 4 times, P1
Row 5: Sl 1, K3, *P2, K6, P2, K4*. Repeat from * 3 times, P2, K6, P2, K3, P1
Row 6: Sl 1, P3, *Sl 2 in F, P1, K2 from CN, P4, Sl 1 in B, K2, P1 from CN, P4*. Repeat from * 4 times

Row 18: Sl 1, P2, *Sl 1 in B, K22, P1 from CN, P6, Sl 2 in F, P1, K2 from CN, P2*. Repeat from * 4 times, P1
Row 19: Sl 1, K2, *P2, K8, P2, K2*. Repeat from * 4 times, P1
Row 20: Sl 1, P1, *Sl 1 in B, K2, P1 from CN, P8, Sl 2 in F, P1, K2 from CN*. Repeat from * 4 times, P2
Row 21: Sl 1, K1, *P2, K10, P2*. Repeat from * 4 times, K1, P1
Repeat the rows 2 to 21 until you have the length you need/want.
Note: even row numbers are traveling cable rows, and in the odd number rows you basically knit the knit sts, and purl the P sts.
