Free Knitting Scarf Pattern

Skills Required/Techniques Used:

-Knit & purl, cast on & bind off

Materials: Regia (affiliate link) Sock yarn 209 m (229 yds)/50g - 1 ball.
Needles: US #1 (2.00 mm) OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE.

Gauge: 24 st = 4" (10 cm)

Pattern notes:

Garter Stitch; all rows : knit

The selvedge/edge stitches : the first and the last sts are edge sts, here they are are worked as follows: slip the first stitch knitwise and purl the last one.

Abbreviations:

K – knit

P – purl

St, sts – stitch, stitches

sl - slip

Directions:
Cast on 18 sts (including edge stitches).
Row 1: sl1, k16, p1.

Repeat row 1 until scarf measures 16 1/2" (42 cm) or to desired length.

Bind off.

Great pattern for teaching children to knit.

Great pattern not just for children learning to knit but for adults who have grandchildren and are not very good knitters but want to knit clothes for their dolls (I have a friend like that)
