Seersucker Stitch

Suddenly I'm thinking of writing a pattern for knitting since I'm free and available as for now. So, I have decided to try knitting stitches called seersucker stitch. I'm thinking of creating 2 colour of the stitches since one colour is too common. First, I need to create the so called swatches but actually I'm trying to knit the pattern. This is the pattern picture I have taken on the net.

Here the picture after few attempts of 2 colour seersucker stitch.

I have tried to knit last night, and have finished it just now. I am not satisfied because of the shaping crown is not according to my imagination. 😂😂😂

Hmm. I cannot figure out yet what went wrong. I will try again later..

The Ripple Scarf

The Ripple Scarf

I have started making this scarf since Dec 2014. Because of time (busy with work), atitude (lazy to start and continue 😂😂) so the scarf was finished last week (thank god).

I used 2 different colour of Ice Yarn. The total yarn used was 3 skeins. 1½ of Ice Yarn Dancing Baby in Blue Turquoise (Yarn A) and 1½ of Ice Yarn Dancing Baby in Pink Camel Beige (Yarn B). I used 4 mm needle (Sorry, forgot to mention this).  Here is the pattern for the scarf. The gauge is not really important.

The size of the scarf are 12.5 inch width and 65 inch in length (before blocking)

Cast on 96 st on yarn A
Row 1 - 4 - Knit
Row 5 - K2tog 4 times, {kfb 8 times,  k2tog 8 times} repeat until last 8 st k2tog 4 times
Row 6 - Purl
Change to yarn B
Row 7 - Knit
Row 8 - Purl
Repeat row 5-8 with alternating color until desired length

Happy knitting ^^

Mitered Square Bag - The Pattern

Hi.. I am in the mood on writing the pattern today. So today I will be posting the pattern for Mitered Square Bag. This bag still in progress because I still cannot decided what type of strap that I will used. Either the knitted seed stitch strap or bag handle. :D

There were a lot of ways to do this bag. You can knit 22 pieces of Mitered Square and seam it according to this picture or follow this pattern which is less seam. I will try to figure out the seamless pattern and will post it into my blog. :)

Mitered Square Pattern

Cast on an odd number of stitches.
From the picture above, I have cast on 35 stitches using long tail cast on. Make sure the remaining yarn left is long enough to do another long tail cast on.

Row 1 : S1 (Purlwise), Knit until 3 stitches at the centre, S1, K2tog, PSSO, Knit towards end
Row 2 : S1 (Purlwise), Purl
Row 3 : S1 (Knitwise), Knit until 3 stitches at the centre, S1, K2tog, PSSO, Knit towards end
Row 4 : S1 (Purlwise), Knit

Repeat Row 1 to Row 4 until 3 stitches left on the needle, S1, K2tog, PSSO. Do not break yarn

The next step is pickup 17 stitches and using the remaining yarn and the running yarn, cast on another 18 stitches using long tail cast on. (The picture above: I am using cable cast on due to not enough  remaining yarn.. lol). Repeat the Mitered Square Pattern for one more square as shown the picture below.

Make another single Mitered Square then arrange it like the picture below.. * I do not have the picture.. T.T*. Do not break the yarn and pick up 35 stitches from the single square and the double mitered square and continue knit the Mitered Square Pattern.

Continue pickup stitches and knit the pattern according to the arrangement from picture below. Sorry I do not have the picture to illustrate more.. :(

Note that at the No 7, 12, 17 and 21, you need to cast on 17 stitches first and pick up another 18 stitches from the square.. Something like in the picture below.

Last but not least.. Your final work should be like this..

For seaming part just follow the picture below..

This is my unfinished work or project half done a.k.a PHD. lol

This is the latest picture. Left for attaching the lining and bag straps/handles.

Sorry for my bad English.. Feel free to leave a comment.. Happy Knitting..  ^^
