INTRODUCTION

Lady

beauty shot

Piquant

A seamless, top-down, ribbed, square-neck raglan with long, flared sleeves and side vents. I wanted to make something that was elegant and fashion forward, but relatively quick and relaxing to knit. Most of the body and sleeves are knit in the round. But the rib fabric means you won't have to slow down much when knitting the flat parts near the hem and sleeve cuffs.

The sleeves are designed to be a little longer than average, which is how I like mine, but they can be easily shortened.

While I was designing this pattern I was reminded of Tempting by Jenna Adorno, the first sweater I ever completed!

Lady's ribs give her plenty of shape, but the side vents keep the body from being too clingy. She's perfect for all those holiday parties that are right around the corner.

PATTERN NOTES

[Knitty's list of standard abbreviations and techniques can be found here.]

3x3 Rib (multiple of 6 sts + 3)
Row 1 [RS]: (K3, p3) to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 2 [WS]: (P3, k3) to last 3 sts, p3.
Rep these 2 rows for patt.

kfbf: knit into front, back, and front of same stitch. 2 sts increased.

This pullover boasts a low neckline. If you would like a higher neck, you can cast on the front neck sts earlier. Alternatively, if you would like the option to raise it later, you may wish to cast on the front neck sts using a provisional cast-on and waste yarn, then unzip the cast-on and work the resulting sts even in patt until the neck reaches the desired height, then cast off and seam each side to Left and Right Front. Refer to schematic for neck depth in the pattern as written.

During and after working sleeve decreases, keep sts outside underarm markers in patt as est, working knit sts as knit and purl sts as purl.
