An Easy Knit Hat Pattern

I had one skein left of this amazing Wool and the Gang Crazy Sexy Wool and figured what better way to put it to use than to make a perfectly slouchy hat. Hats are one of my favorite things to knit because they’re quick and it’s easy to get creative with them…. creative with stitches and creative with the type of yarn you use and creative with color.

If you know me at all and knitting, I’m usually a huge fan of knitting with chunky yarn, big needles and making simple projects. Every now and then I do something different, but I’m all about quick projects that I will actually wear!

This is the perfect beginner hat if you’re just starting to knit in the round. It’s simple, knits up quickly and has the most amazing fit. It has just enough ribbing to help it fit snug enough on most heads and it’s just long enough for the perfect slouch.

Try it out and let me know how it goes!

Gauge: 8 STS and 12 rows = 4 inches

Note: This hat is designed to be slouchy.  To make it more snug fitting against your head, decrease the overall length by an inch or so (try it on as you go along to see how it fits) and you can also decrease the number of CO STS to 38, 36, or 34 instead of 40.
