Mosaic Tiles Skirt

Hi everyone! Mosaic pattern is one of my favorite patterns to knit, so you will see it included in many of my previous works. Since I’m into knitting skirts these days, I wanted to make one that features this pattern. My pick for the yarn this bulky gray and yellow yarn -which my daughter has picked for me a while back- and it was perfect to make the new skirt. The pattern is quite easy to knit once you know the simple mosaic rules; knit and slip stitches with each color every two rounds or knit and slip stitches one round then purl and slip stitches the other round. This skirt comes in four sizes, so check out the measurement details and pick the size that suits you. I also made a matching hat that goes perfectly with the skirt. I will be posting the instructions for it next week. I hope my new design is to your liking and can't wait to hear your feedback.

Repeat the rib round six (sixeight, eight) more times. Change to US 13 (9 mm) circular needles, bind on the yellow yarn, then knit the first two rounds of the general pattern as follows:

General pattern:

Note: always slip stitch purl-wise.

Round 1: (k 5, sl st 1, k 6), repeat to end.

Round 2 and every even numbered round: p the k sts and slip the slipped sts with yarn to back.

Round 3: with gray yarn, *(sl st, k 1) twice, k 4, (sl st, k 1) twice, repeat from * to end.

Round 5: with yellow yarn, *(k 3, sl st 1) twice, k 4, repeat from * to end.

Round 7: with gray yarn, *sl st 1, k 3, sl st 1, k 1, repeat from * to end.

Round 15: with gray yarn, repeat round 11.

Round 17: with yellow yarn, repeat round 9.

Round 19: with gray yarn, repeat round 7.

Round 21: with yellow yarn, repeat round 5.

Round 23: with gray yarn, repeat round 3.

Round 24: repeat round 2.

Repeat the general pattern two (two, three, three) more times, then work each size as follows:

For size XS/S: repeat the first two rounds of the general pattern.

For size M/L: repeat rounds 1-14 of the general pattern.

For sizes XL/2XL and 3XL: repeat the first two rounds of the general pattern.

Cut off yellow yarn, with gray yarn and US 15 (10 mm) circular needles, work rib round six (six, eight, eight) times. Bind off all sts and weave in loose ends.
