Vneck Fishnet Stitch Top Knitting Pattern for XS, S, M, L , XL, XXL sizes [FREE Knitting Pattern]

This is a very simple two panel project and even a beginner knitter end up with a luxurious trendy summer top.  Fishnet Stitch Top is an excellent choice for summer, so as it is so pleasant and cool to wear.

Materials:

Yarn Weight 2: Fine-Sport
I used 100% mercerized Cotton yarn 360yds/3.53 oz (330m/100 g)
Color pink

  • Needles size: US 4/3.5mm knitting needles or other to archive gauge
  • Yarn Needle

Yarn needed: 3 (3, 4, 4, 5, 6) skeins

GAUGE

Knitting Gauge (4in x 4in / 10cm) (blocked)
25 x 28 in Fishnet Stitch pattern

remember to check your gauge, because if you are going to use cotton yarn (so as I did) this top may be stretchy!

ABBREVIATIONS

K = Knit
P = Purl
ST = Stitch(es)
REP = Repeat
RS = Right side
WS = Wrong side
KFS = Knit Fishnet Stitch
PFS = Purl Fishnet Stitch

Finished Measurements: (After blocked )

PATTERN:

Knit Fishnet Stitch [KFS]: *Work a knit in-between 2 stitches without dropping the stitch off the left needle, then continue by knitting those 2 stitches together through the back loop. Repeat from *

Purl Fishnet Stitch [PFS]: *Work a purl in-between 2 stitches without dropping the stitch off the left needle, then continue by purling those 2 stitches together. Repeat from *

Panels ( Make 2 )

Cast on 221 (233, 243, 255, 265, 275) st and work as follows:

ROW1 [RS]: Slip the first st, work PFS until 2 stitches remain, purl 2 stitches (67 stitches).
ROW 2[WS]: Slip the first st, work KFS until 2 stitches remain, knit 2 stitches (67 stitches).
ROW 3[RS]: Slip the first st, work KFS until 2 stitches remain, knit 2 stitches (67 stitches).
ROW 4[WS]: Slip the first st, work PFS until 2 stitches remain, purl 2 stitches (67 stitches).
ROW 5[RS]: Rep Row 3
ROW 6[WS]: Rep Row 4
ROW 7[RS]: Rep Row 3
ROW 8[WS]: Rep Row 4
ROW 9[RS]: Rep Row 3
ROW 10[WS]: Rep Row 4

Rep 1-10 rows 6 (7, 7, 8, 8, 9) more times, and 1-6 rows one more time = 76 (86, 86, 96, 96, 106) rows total.
The end of row 76( 86, 86, 96, 96, 106) cut the yarn and leave 20-30 inches long.

Join

Sew the center front 13 (13,14,15,15,16)”/33(33,35,38,38,40)cm and center back 11 (11,12,13,13,14)”28(28,30,33,33,35)cm seam.
Laying your panels with the right side facing down and sew on the wrong side. Lay the last row of each panel facing each other, using the tails that we left earlier for sewing. If you want a lower neck line, sew less st. If you want a higher neck line, sew more st. Sew the center back the same as the center front. (see the pic 1).

Fold your top in half at the shoulder with the right side facing each other. Sew 12 (12,13,13,13,14)”30,5(30.5,33,33,33,35)cm of the front and back together. Start sewing from the bottom up, using method of choice (If you want smaller arm holes, just sew more. If you want bigger arm holes, just sew less). (see the pic2)

Border

Pick up 304( 344, 344, 384, 384, 424) stitches along the lower edge of the top. Join in round, making sure not to twist stitches, place marker to indicate beginning of round.

1st rnd: Work 1×1 rib (k1, p1) around.
Work 1×1 ribbing for near 1.5 ( 1.77, 1.77, 2, 2, 2.37) inches / 4(4.5, 4.5, 5, 5, 6)cm,

Cast off using your preferred method of stretchy bind off. Cut the yarn. Weave in all the ends.

Finishing

Soak in lukewarm water with a mild wool wash for 10-20 minutes. Press dry by rolling it up in a towel. Lay flat to dry.
