Given the two reviews mentioning how heavy this was; could it be rewritten using worsted weight yarn?

Hi Barbara - we'll pass this suggestion on to our pattern development team.

Cabled Topper With Pockets Pattern (Knit)

This was a great and fun pattern to knit, however, I felt like I was wearing a blanket when I completed it. It is very heavy but very beautiful...

Pretty but heavy

I made this for my mom for a holiday gift. The cabling and seed stitch are beautiful but it’s very heavy. I skipped the finishing on the arms to reduce weight and wish I had done the same for the next and front edges. The directions were good but could have been more precise on the edgings. For instance putting the number of rows on the pocket linings so the seed stitch match up with the fronts. On the edging the specific side you are working after you pick up X stitches like k on right side or wrong side. Overall I am happy with the finished product and J hope my mom likes it.
